Big Bear Lake Seasonal Activities |

Spring
Budding flora, meandering streams and gentle winds are all signs of spring in the mountains. As the sun beams stronger and the snow melts, a frenzy of activity makes way. Hike upon scenic mountain pathways and pack a picnic for the summit. Bike through dirt trails and absorb the peaceful and serene environs. Experience water sports on Big Bear Lake: cruise along in a pontoon; canoe through calm watery ripples; speed about in a jet ski; or throw out a fishing line and reel a few in.
Summer
Continuous sunshine and warm comfortable air depict summertime. When temperatures are soaring inland, a two-hour trip to the mountains offers a refreshing escape from the heat. Even though the beach has much appeal, there is far more to experience in Southern California during the summer. Enjoy a number of activities: hiking, biking, golfing, jet skiing, boating, kayaking, waterskiing, horseback riding and much more.
Fall
A brilliant display of yellow, green, orange and red reveal the ambiance of fall. Explore the multicolored landscape through various ways: hike, stroll, or mountain bike along gentle pathways or rugged rocky trails; ride a jeep through smoothly carved valleys; or horseback though the forest. Also popular during the autumn months are annual events including Oktoberfest and the International Film Festival. When the evening arrives, the crisp and refreshing mountain air offers a stimulating atmosphere, as the clear night sky shimmers with a remarkable display of constellations.
Winter
A blanket of powdery white snow signifies the arrival of winter. The snow tipped summit beams vibrantly from the highway, miles before reaching the top. The brisk and cool days offer the ideal conditions for snowboarding, skiing, sledding or snowshoeing through the forest. For the souvenir buff, a trip into town provides an exciting shopping experience abundant with crafts and artwork. In the evening, after a full day of activity, it's always great to ease back at the cabin and sip wine by the fire.
