Las Vegas Fremont Street / Downtown Hotels offer a very different experience from the towering, behemoths of the Strip. If history is your thing, there is over 100 years of it represented in the various casinos and hotels of Glitter Gulch, now referred to as the Fremont Street Experience. For five blocks, Fremont Street is a pedestrian mall with casinos, restaurants, nightclubs, and bars. You won't need an umbrella as the entire area is covered by a canopy, really a giant LED movie screen, 90 feet above the street. The downtown resorts tend to be smaller and older than those on the Strip, but many retain the elegance and ambiance of the nearly forgotten past of Las Vegas and southern Nevada. With much that's the same, but much that's completely different, the Las Vegas Fremont Street / Downtown Hotels are a uniquely Las Vegas attraction.
