Gay friendly hotels have always existed in Las Vegas, of course. However, in recent years hoteliers have discovered the incredible "market opportunity" represented by the gay and lesbian communities. As a result, increasing numbers of hotels and casinos have begun to court gay and lesbian tourists. Yes, some resorts have even taken to providing "sensitivity training" for their employees. Still, most lodging in Las Vegas is gay friendly rather than gay exclusive (with the obvious exception of the Blue Moon Resort). Don't bother looking for a "GLBT neighborhood" in Vegas; the community is entirely assimilated. Nevada in general, and Las Vegas in particular, is a very progressive place; local government is sensitive, helpful, and welcoming.
