With its bridges and castle, it's easy to see how so many golfers have gotten caught up in Irish golfing folklore.
Players making their way to the first tee are accompanied by forecaddies and cross over a replica of the famed Swilcan Bridge.
Designed to mimic one of the world's best courses, the Royal Links layout is modeled after the British Open course. The par 72 course measures over 7,000 yards and features five different boxes to tee off from, designed to give everybody the chance to play. In what is somewhat of an oddity, the course features over 100 pot bunkers but no water hazards.
The course features four par three holes, each one measuring the exact yardage as the British courses and is highlighted by two holes that are surrounded by bunkers. Hole number eight which measures 153 and inspired by the famous "Postage stamp" as well as hole 17 which is 223-yards and bears an uncanny resemblance to Royal Troon.
Once you have finished up your round, feel free to indulge in a little bit more Irish atmosphere by heading over to the castle styled clubhouse. Clubhouse walls are decorated with paintings of ancient players and clubs and harkens patrons back to the sacred grounds of the British Open. The clubhouse features a golf shop, and Stymie's Pub.
For those that are dying to play the British Open, but can't afford the airfare, the Royals Links is the next best thing.
