Known as the most historic hotel in Las Vegas, the Golden Gate has managed to remain one of the most iconic hotels in the downtown area.
Since opening in 1906, the Golden Gate has managed to remain the one constant thing when it comes to the ever changing face of Fremont Street. Hotels have come and gone, hotels have undergone drastic makeovers, but the Golden Gate remains, displaying the same wooden fixtures it had when it first opened.
While the casino it maybe small, you can be sure that it is just as cozy, inviting and hoping with action as ever. While the poker tables, Blackjack, Craps and Roulette tables may be packed, the small 10 seat sports book with four televisions is perfect for those sports fanatics that have grown weary of those larger, more noisy modern sports books.
Looking to grab a drink? Then you may want to head on over to the bar area and order up one of the famous 99 cent shrimp cocktails. We say its famous because the Golden Gate is the first place to unveil the shrimp cocktail to the Vegas crowd. While you are at the bar you may want to take some time and enjoy the music of the piano player.
While Vegas continues to grow and expand, you can be sure that there will always be at least one place that remains true to its Vegas roots and that place is the Golden Gate.
