Miami Activities and Attractions

Miami's cozy temperatures in the 80's and long sunny days are the perfect haven for activity. Here are a few suggestions to enjoy before the sun sets and the nightlife procures.

Miami Monkey Jungle

Spend the afternoon with a plethora of baboons! Check out the stylish brown beards on the howler monkeys and hear them howl out loud at random. Watch the black-capped Capuchins maneuver through the branches and peek out from the brush in sheer wonder. Stroll through the Amazon rainforest and have a chat with some cuddly squirrel monkeys. Peruse ancient fossils from thousands of years ago at Fossil Discovery. Hang with orangutans at an entertaining training show. See an assortment of chirpy tropical birds. Enjoy the wild monkey pool show and watch them dive and spin tricks for tasty vittles. (Miami Monkey Jungle hours: daily 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.)

Miami Scooter Rides

Explore the beautiful coastline of Miami on a snazzy scooter. This is the perfect way to meander through thick crowds and traffic with the greatest of ease. Even better, you'll always find a place to park on these tiny two-wheel-spiff-mobiles. As you journey along the ocean front there is so much to take in. Peer out onto the glimmering ocean and ponder its vast splendor. Keep those peepers peeled to the sea and look for loveable dolphins swimming in trios with happy-go-lucky smiles. See the sedative sway of the palms. Peruse an abundance of hot bikini girls and muscle-bound boasting. Without a doubt, Miami scooter rides are great fun, and they'll get you around with minimal hassle. Right on the beach, it's tough to miss the assortment of scooter rental places. Typical price for a four hour excursion is $45 for a solo ride and $50 to double it up.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

Located on the Southern tip of Biscayne Bay are the most incredible views in all of South Florida. Pristine ocean waters colored in turquoise, the Cape Florida Lighthouse standing tall along the shoreline, puffy white clouds embracing the sky and breathtaking sunsets are what make this fine place a true delight. The Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is a "must-see."
