Learn what's hot in New York with up-to-date reviews on hotels, attractions, Broadway shows and more!
The City of New York is really five "cities," each with its own personality. As nearly everyone knows, there are five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx,
and Staten Island. Each has its own unique atmosphere. But when tourists, visitors, diplomats, artists, architects, business people, and virtually everyone else speaks of New York City,
the first thoughts, images, and emotional reactions are of the borough of Manhattan. New York City is "The Big Apple," the city that never sleeps, the advertising, fashion, financial, and
artistic capital of the world. No doubt this list is far from exhaustive! Visitors come to see Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, Times Square, the many art galleries and museums, the United Nations, the Statue of Liberty, perhaps one of the TV morning shows, or some other form of entertainment. Central Park, Greenwich Village, or Harlem could each engage a visitor for weeks. Some may come to watch the home team challenge the Giants, Jets, Yankees, Mets, Rangers, or Knicks. Perhaps your sport is shopping. You could start with Macy's, then try Bloomingdale's, and perhaps one of the designers on Madison Avenue. Regardless of the purpose of your visit, you will need a place to stay. This site is designed to help you with the many lodging choices available in New York City. Now, once you've unpacked, and assuming you didn't stuff yourself with that excellent airline cuisine, you might want to consider dining at one of the city's fine restaurants. For your convenience we've also included a map and a two week weather forecast for New York. |
