New York City Gay Friendly Hotels. |
| Gay friendly hotels, on the one hand, are the standard in New York City, particularly in Manhattan. As a visitor to Manhattan, gay and lesbian travelers need not feel geographically
constrained. Yet some hotels take pride in going that extra mile or putting a little more effort into the cultivation of a gay or lesbian friendly atmosphere. Sometimes you just want to feel
comfortable and accepted being yourself while you conduct your business or enjoy the local attractions. Greenwich Village, the West Village, is where the Stonewall Riots set off the Gay Rights
Movement in 1969. Christopher Street near the intersection with Waverly Place has been renamed Stonewall Place, and the Village is certainly a friendly neighborhood, East or West. Chelsea, just
to the north of the West Village is another community with a significant gay presence. However, wherever you go in Manhattan you're sure to find gay friendly hotels. |
