Book your room at the Hotel Solamar today

While San Diego may be known as a fairly relaxed city, the Gaslamp District is where many people head to when they want to jazz things up a little. The Hotel Solamar is just one of the hotels in the Gaslamp District that brings that funky new fresh vibe to its guests.

The centerpiece of the hotel has got to be the terrace on the fourth floor which features a pool, cocktail lounge and work out area. If you are looking for a place to hang out on the terrace you can't go wrong with the pool area. The pool area features gas fed "campfires" that are contained in basins filled with blue marbles. There is also a small gazebo area for the truly hip to relax in.

The first thing you may notice about the 235 guestrooms is the polka dot blanket that is laid out on the bed or the blue and green striped curtains, don't worry they aren't meant to be clich, they are designed to instill a little levity into the room as many rooms feature a distinct dark mahogany feel to the furnishings. The rooms all feature oversized work desks, flat screen TV's, high speed Internet access, mini-bar DVD/CD players, daily newspaper and pet amenities for those that can't bear the thought of being away from their precious pet. The bathrooms come furnished with white tile accentuated by glass mosaics and a stylish above the counter sink. After you get done soaking in the tub you can choose between the leopard print or tiger striped robe.

While many of the in room amenities are top of the line, the Hotel Solamar really distinguishes itself with its on site JSix restaurant that boasts a distinct Middle Eastern feel and specializes in world fusion cuisine.

For those that are looking to be in the heart of the downtown area and are looking to see what the nightlife is truly all about, the Hotel Solamar is one of your best bets.
