Coronado CA 92118
If there was ever a true Fantasy Island, the Marriott Coronado Island Resort might be it. With 16 acres of waterfront property, you can be sure that there is more than enough space for you to plash around in or just have fun relaxing and working on the tan.
Modeled after a European resort, the Marriott Coronado Island Resort features towering Romanesque columns, private terrace, hidden waterfalls and peaceful gardens. Just ten blocks from the hotel is Coronado Beach which is perfect for those that want to do a little sunbathing. For those that are looking to do a little exploring, the hotel offers a water taxi that will shuttle you back and forth between the resort and the Marriott Marina.
Of course you don't have to leave the hotel to have plenty of things to do. The hotel features six tennis courts, three lagoon style pools and hot tubs which are surrounded by palm trees. For the kids, the hotel has a couple of extra special bonuses. The hotel is home to a flock of pink flamingos that can be found near the entrance of the hotel, they make for the perfect photo opportunity. If flamingos aren't your thing and you are looking for something a little bit more domesticated, the hotel has its own Good Will Ambassador in the form of Tweed, a friendly border collie. For those that have worked up an appetite from exploring, L'Escale is the onsite restaurant and specializes in Mediterranean cuisine with a California twist.
Class and elegance are a couple of words that could be used to describe the hotel's guestrooms. Each room features baby palm trees, highly polished wood surfaces and breathtaking ocean views. Each of the 300 rooms also comes with wireless Internet access, spacious oversized bathrooms and top of the line mattresses which ensure a restful night sleep.
