In the case of customer service, sometimes bigger doesn't always mean better. That is especially true in the case of the Hotel Occidental.
While the Hotel Occidental isn't nearly as large as some of its neighbors in the Balboa Park and downtown area, this small European Style property seems to tower over them when it comes to customer relations. The receptions desk is always willing, eager and ready to help you with any questions you may have or assist with things such as dinner reservations and show tickets.
Located close to city attractions such as San Diego Zoo, Gaslamp District, Little Italy and the harbor, Hotel Occidental has plenty of things for guests to do. The hotel even allows guests to take out bicycles so they can explore neighboring Balboa Park and the downtown area.
Just because you spend most of your time exploring the city, that doesn't mean you shouldn't take some time and explore the hotel itself. The hotel features a cozy garden patio area which is perfectly for curling up in and enjoying a nice hot cup of complimentary coffee to start the day with.
As far as the guestrooms go, each one comes with modern furniture, premium bedding, kitchenettes, cable TV and DVD players
For those that are looking for something a little bit more intimate with a staff that caters to your every desire, the Hotel Occidental is the place for you.
