Arizona Tourism and Vacations |
| Arizona can be divided into five geographical regions: the Arizona's West Coast, the North Central Region, the Northern Region, Phoenix and Central Arizona, and Tucson and Southern Arizona. They are different. The West Coast is the eastern shore of the Colorado River passing through Yuma and defining the western border of the state. The North Central Region
is where cowboys still roam. Rodeos, hiking and biking trails, and the Verde Valley where the prehistoric Sinaguan Indians left their pueblo on a hilltop. The Northern Arizona city of Sedona is best known for its artistic community and natural beauty. Flagstaff, at the foot of the San Francisco Peaks, has a long history explored in several museums, Lowell Observatory, and over 200
restaurants. And then there's the Grand Canyon. Southern Arizona's Santa Cruz river valley is where B&B inns, golf resorts, and dude ranches, are plentiful. Tucson, Arizona's second largest city,
is here. Five mountain ranges encircle the city providing a unique and varied space for a wealth of outdoors activities. Saguaro Cactus, Colossal Cave, Sabino Canyon, and Mt. Lemmon, are just
some of the many natural attractions. Finally, there is Central Arizona where Phoenix, the nation's sixth largest city, is located with its suburbs of Tempe and Scottsdale. Phoenix is the business
center of the state. Tempe is the home of Arizona State University and the NFL's Arizona Cardinals. Scottsdale, in the Sonoran Desert, is the destination of choice for leisure travelers in Arizona
with spas, golf, and an incredible downtown nightlife. The land and its peoples, past and present, are the State of Arizona.
