New York Tourism and Vacations |
| New York State consists of a number of quite different geographical regions. Of course, the first thing anyone thinks of is New York City, and specifically Manhattan. Manhattan,
the home of Broadway, fashion, art, skyscrapers, Wall Street, the United Nations, the Statue of Liberty, and those TV morning shows. Nevertheless, there is much more to the State of New York than
Manhattan. Besides the other four boroughs of the city, there is Long Island, Buffalo and Niagara Falls, and eight other distinct regions of the state. (The Adirondacks, Saratoga, the Catskills,
Central - Leatherstocking, Chautauqua - Allegheny, Finger Lakes, the Hudson Valley, and the Thousand Islands - Seaway.) While each region has its geography, history, and attractions, this site is
primarily concerned with Manhattan and Niagara Falls. The principal attraction in and around Niagara Falls, naturally enough, is the falls, but there is much more. Buckhorn Island, Beaver Island,
DeVeaux, and Devil's Hole State Parks are scenic wonders and fun, family playgrounds. Art galleries, museums, The Aquarium of Niagara Falls, shops, restaurants, and tours will keep visitors to the
region busy. Tour the Cave of the Winds underneath the falls or play the slots at the Seneca Niagara Hotel & Casino. Travel to Tonawanda and check out the western end of Clinton's Big Ditch, these
days better known as the Erie Canal. This site is specifically designed to assist travelers with their lodging, eating, and spare time when they travel to the New York City and Niagara Falls regions
of New York State. |
