Taos Museums |
| Taos museums are rich in history and art, and those assembled below are excellent examples of what's available. The Taos Art Museum is a popular starting point for museum goers. Micolai Fechin completed its construction in 1933, mixing Russian, Spanish, and Native American symbolism in the building's architecture. Today it's as well known for that as it is for the works of art inside. Retablos (oil painting on wooden figures), Agnes Martin's works, sculptures, and Taos Moderns are featured in the Harwood Museum of Art. Jewelry, pottery, painting, and Southwestern art are exhibited at the Millicent Rogers Museum. History comes alive in the Governor Bent House Museum and the Kit Carson Home and Museum. You'll find it impossible to limit yourself to a single museum in Taos, New Mexico. |
